Today we're introducing an improved lineup for our web hosting services. These plans offer double the resources as our previous lineup while keeping an affordable price!

Our new web hosting plans have been improved across the board to deliver a greater experience to our clients:

  • We have doubled the SSD storage of all our plans.
  • We have doubled the bandwidth of all our plans.
  • Our web hosting now run on the latest Xeon E3 processors, along with faster NVME SSD storage.
  • Our Standard plan now offers a free domain when purchased yearly.

PHP Versions

Just over a year ago we publicly discussed our plans for PHP versions and removing support for outdated and insecure PHP builds. We put this on hold due to some customers still using PHP 7.0, but not we're ready to push forward.

As of today, PHP 7.0-7.2 is no longer supported on our web hosting plans. We are currently working on adding support for PHP 7.4 and estimate that to be added soon. While we still stress very heavily that PHP 5 is very outdated and should no longer be used we still see some customers running this for outdated software. We don't plan to remove these versions yet, but please keep in mind that it is something we're exploring for the future.

These plans are available today, at

Hytale Hosting - Coming Soon

14 December 2018

Yesterday Hypixel Studios unveiled a preview of their first standalone game, Hytale!

As expected the game includes multiplier aspects including community driven servers! This allows us to plan ahead and prepare the best we can to offer Hytale Hosting once Hytale releases. No release date or estimate has been given for Hytale, so we don't expect it to be in the near future.

We're very excited for Hytale and can't wait to see what it has to offer for developers and players alike. We aim to have Hytale Hosting available as soon as we can from the release of Hytale. Please stay tuned on our blog for more information when it becomes available.

Upcoming PHP Changes with Web Hosting

10 December 2018

Since the launch of our web hosting service we've aimed to support as many different systems as possible. Part of this was offering multiple PHP versions, ranging from PHP 5.4 all the way to PHP 7.2.

PHP 5.4 has been un-supported for over 3 years, which is a security concern. Thankfully non of our web hosting sites are currently set to use PHP 5.4 or 5.5, which means removing support for these versions is an easy process.

PHP 5.6 is a slightly bigger operation to remove from our web hosting, due to it still being a heavily used (and our default) PHP version. Support for PHP 5.6 ends at the end of the year, so we're aiming to start our plans to have people migrate to PHP 7.2 or later. Part of this will be enforcing PHP 7.2 as our default PHP version for new sites, starting today.

  • PHP 5.4/5.5 support has already been removed at the time of writing this post.
  • PHP 5.6 will continue to be offered for as long as possible, however we will be pushing clients towards PHP 7.3 and beyond.
  • PHP 7.0 will be removed in early 2019, and all previous sites will move over to 7.2 by default.
  • PHP 7.1 will be offered until end of support, which is currently planned for the end of 2019.
  • PHP 7.2 will be our default PHP version until 7.3 is supported, and will be removed once support ends in 2020.
  • PHP 7.3 just recently released. We're aiming to support this as our default PHP version sometime in early 2019.

Update: After some customers brought forward concerns regarding removal of early PHP 7 builds we've opted to not remove any PHP versions for now. But we may re-visit this at a later date.

Update 2: PHP 7.3 is now our default PHP version.

We want to help our clients be as up-to-date and secure as possible. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to open a support ticket and we'll be happy to help.

Moving away from .HOSTING

16 October 2018

Today we have some news that will have an impact towards our clients running our web hosting or DNS hosting solutions. Earlier today we moved away from our previous Enkel.Hosting domain, back to

Early this year we got word that Uniregistry were increasing their prices for some TLDs, including the .HOSTING TLD. Of which has had an increase of 1,400% in cost. As a result of this we have decided to move away from this TLD, rather than spending over $400/year on a domain alone.

Use our nameservers?

If you're a user of our nameservers you will be required to update them away from We do actually advise to take usage of Cloudflare's services if possible however, as their DNS infrastructure is at a much bigger scale than ourselves.

New Nameservers:

Don't worry about doing this straight away! We'll still be supporting the old nameservers until May 2019.

As part of this we are also moving our email systems to as its primary. Similar to our nameservers we will however still be forwarding any emails to old addresses until May 2019

Anything else?

Thankfully a couple of years ago we moved most services to run as part of proxied sub-roots of our primary domain. This makes it easy for us to just put a general permanent redirect on all requests to route to the new primary domain.

We do hope this doesn't create confusion for our customers, and we are happy to help at any time where we can. We also have some exciting news to share in the near future, so keep an eye on the blog!

VPS Security with Enkel Hosting

13 March 2017

Recently we’ve noticed a spike in attempts of people trying to hit VPS servers on the Enkel Hosting network with malicious intent. Due to this we’re increasing our security protocols to protect all our clients on our VPS hosting service.

We’re now running extra checks on our host nodes to prevent abuse and attempt to find potential security holes. From now on we are monitoring the following of all clients using our VPS hosting service:

  • Root password strength – We now check if the root password is a strong password, if this is not the case the root password will be reset to a random string.
  • Raw packet data – If a VPS is sending a high amount of data we will auto suspend the VPS and investigate, this is in the case of DoS attacks.
  • Concurrent SMTP connections – If a high amount of concurrent SMTP connections is detected we will suspend the VPS and investigate.
  • Concurrent SSH connections – If a high amount of concurrent SSH connections is detected we will suspend the VPS and investigate.
  • Checks for obvious malicious processes

If you have a secure VPS and have no malicious intent you shouldn’t have to worry about these changes. We are implementing these for the safety and security of our clients and our VPS infrastructure.
